Most riders agree that range is among the most important factors when selecting an electric vehicle. What good is your shiny new scooter if it can’t get you to work and back on a single charge?
These days, the pace of innovation in the electric scooter sector—with increasingly capable batteries and energy-efficient design—means that e-scooters now ride further than ever.
Gone are the times when riders would nervously check their display every five minutes, praying that the charge holds out until they reach the destination! Now, it’s not uncommon to find e-scooters that can take you up to 60 miles in one trip.
However, range distances can be a contentious topic; some electric scooters are known to deviate from their advertised specs. For this reason, we’ve included the manufacturer’s estimated range within the ‘Quick Specs’ section and a real-world estimate towards the bottom of each mini-review. The list is ordered based on the manufacturer’s estimated max range.
While all the scooters below possess some serious stamina, other features vary greatly. All of this is explored below, so that you can select the best long-range scooter for your needs in 2022.

10. Inokim OXO – 52 miles max range
Quick Specs
- 2 x 1000W motors
- 60V 26Ah battery
- 52 miles max range
- 40mph max speed
- 5 hour charge time
- 33kg weight
The Inokim OXO is a great example of a company raising the bar on a previous model. When the OX arrived in 2018, it was immediately praised as one of the best-performing e-scooters around. To cut a long story short, the OXO goes one better.
This is a true monster of an e-scooter, with boundary-breaking max range and top speed. Great build quality and unrivaled braking capabilities elevate OXO even further, though its wings are clipped by a couple of nagging flaws.
Let’s start with the positives. The first is its sturdy, self-assured build that leverages both comfort and security for the rider. Thoughtful design is evidenced by the conveniently placed charging port and easy-to-use folding mechanism that brings some portability to a relatively hefty scooter.
The OXO’s ride offers a smooth, buttery feel. This is in part due to its solid suspension and capable tires, but it’s the Zoom hydraulic brakes that are most to thank for. A shop-stopping braking distance of around 3m is difficult to beat anywhere.
The acceleration on this e-scooter is a bit underwhelming; it may take a second or two longer to get up to speed compared with other machines in this class. Another source of frustration is the jumpy throttle, which can make it difficult to maintain a consistent speed while riding.
If you can overcome these gripes, you have a fantastic long-distance e-scooter on your hands. A typical real-world range of around 35 miles will serve any rider dependably.
9. Kaabo Mantis Pro – 55 miles max range
Quick Specs
- 2 x 1000W motors
- 60V 24.5Ah battery
- 55 miles max range
- 40mph max speed
- 13-16 hour charge time
- 30kg weight
The Kaboo Mantis Pro sees the much-loved Mantis base model get the upgrade treatment—and a serious one at that.
Colossal range and a strong max speed of 40mph are somehow packed into a 30kg frame, making the Mantis Pro one of the most powerful lightweight scooters around. But this beast also offers a smooth and responsive ride, thanks to a number of high-tech components.
Hydraulic brakes and versatile 10” tires mean you can take the Mantis Pro across virtually all terrains and still enjoy a pleasant ride. The swing-arm spring suspension is a particular highlight, with the adjustable preload helping to accommodate users of different weights and heights.
The real selling point of this machine, however, is its power. The true force of the twin motors can be felt whenever the throttle is squeezed. They’re noisy, but this is easily forgiven when you find yourself zipping around well above the 25mph mark and tackling inclines with ease.
The Mantis Pro’s display is fairly basic but gets the job done. Build quality is excellent and, thankfully, the scooter can be folded. Given its weight, you’ll still have your work cut out carrying this scooter up a flight of stairs or onto public transport.
Its crown jewel is, of course, the range. In any conditions, you should be able to get at least 35 miles out of this machine—that can obviously be boosted by riding more conservatively. An 8-hour charge time means you can top up overnight and be set for the next day’s commute.
8. EMOVE Cruiser – 62 miles max range
Quick Specs
- 1000W motor
- 52V 30Ah battery
- 62 miles max range
- 25mph max speed
- Charge time
- 27kg weight
The EMOVE Cruiser is one of the most widely celebrated vehicles in the e-scooter community. That’s easy to understand when you consider its all-round, commuter-friendly capabilities and ultra-competitive pricing.
The Cruiser is known principally for its remarkable range, but the scooter also offers a whole lot more. It’s very comfortable, with excellent suspension, a spacious deck, pneumatic tires, and conveniently-placed controls coming together to create a painless riding experience.
The versatile electric scooter is also packed with handy features that help to provide an edge over competitors. These include IPX6 water resistance and a sophisticated light system that features front and rear lights as well as turn signals.
The ride itself is nice and zippy—it certainly does the name justice. Acceleration is impressive, as is the EMOVE Cruiser’s ability to scale hills, where the 1000W motor really comes into its element.
This is hardly the fastest bike on this list. However, its relatively slow speed is made up for in its portability; once folded, the scooter can be carried across short distances with some effort.
The EMOVE Cruiser’s major selling point is, of course, its range. A likely real-world range of 50 miles is difficult to match anywhere, let alone at the mid-tier price range that the Cruiser occupies.
7. Dualtron Storm – 80 miles max range
Quick Specs
- 2 x 1500W motors
- 72V 31.5Ah battery
- 80 miles max range
- 60mph max speed
- 21 hour charge time
- 46kg weight
As with most rides from MiniMotors, the Dualtron Storm is a premium scooter with premium performance. On paper, this machine boasts some superb specs and in practice, it’s great fun to use.
One of the first things you notice when riding is the Storm’s torquey acceleration; it’s lightning-quick from a stationary position. The power isn’t lost on hills either, which are typically scaled with ease.
When you want to max out, you’ve got a startling top speed of around 50mph—that’s hard to beat anywhere. Fortunately, the Storm has the braking power to match; Nutt hydraulic brakes make light work of sudden stops, and you won’t feel out of control at any point.
When cruising, the ride is really enjoyable. Responsive throttle, grippy tires, and top-class suspension allow users to express themselves behind the handlebars, even accommodating more aggressive riding styles.
The build quality is also impressive and offers plenty of room for customization so that all riders can find their sweet spot. It’s a heavy scooter, so portability is lost somewhat, but it still folds nicely.
Unlike many other entries on this list, the Storm’s battery can be swapped out easily. That means you can add to its already-impressive base range of around 45 miles by bringing a couple of spare batteries along with you when making a particularly long trip.
6. Dualtron X2 – 80 miles max range
Quick Specs
- 2 x 4150W motors
- 72V 42 Ah battery
- 80 miles max range
- 68mph max speed
- 10 hour charge time
- 66kg weight
Branded as ‘the most powerful scooter’ by MiniMotors, the Dualtron X2 is a luxury ride equipped with superlative specs. This model sees the American manufacturer try to push the boundaries even further by polishing the edges of its much-revered Dualtron X electric scooter.
With twin 4150-watt motors, it’s no surprise that the X2 packs a serious punch. Acceleration is acceptable (the machine’s colossal weight weighs it down, no doubt), but once you’re up and running the scooter zips about for fun and eats up hills without breaking a sweat.
It also tears up any kind of terrain you can imagine. Owing to its robust build, chunky tires, and dependable suspension, the X2 is an enviable offroader.
The top speed of up to 68mph is another draw. Despite the scooter’s weight, riding at a fast pace still feels smooth and secure, largely thanks to the X2’s excellent 19-step adjustable hydraulic suspension. The braking system is also on point for those sudden stops.
The major sticking point for most riders will be the complete absence of portability. Yes, the bike folds, but a whopping weight of 66kg makes the scooter impractical for users that need to carry or stow their ride.
Nevertheless, we’re here for range, and that’s where the X2 pulls out all the stops. MiniMotors gives an estimated range of 90 miles. In the real world, the massive 72V 42Ah main battery should see you through a lung-busting 55 miles, making the X2’s range one of the best around.
5. NAMI Burn-E – 90 miles max range
Quick Specs
- 2 x 1500W motors
- 72V 32Ah battery
- 90 miles max range
- 60mph max speed
- 6 hour charge time
- 47kg weight
NAMI emerged on the e-scooter scene as an unknown entity in 2021, but the Burn-E—its first foray in the field—has already established the company as an industry leader.
The NAMI Burn-E comes at a high price. But given its spectacular performance specs and innovative build, you can’t help but feel that it’s justified. Mind-boggling range and an exhilarating top speed are the standout features, but there’s also so much more to this scooter.
As soon as you hit the throttle, the force of this beast is palpable. The Burn-E boasts perhaps the best acceleration of all electric scooters. As the name suggests, it burns rubber with casual ease, making light work of even the steepest hills.
Crucially, pure power doesn’t come at the expense of control; riders remain in command thanks to an excellent braking system (which comes with regenerative capabilities), sturdy suspension, and trusty tires. Overall, the build quality is excellent and the ride feels great.
As you’d expect, the Burn-E’s portability suffers. Even when folded, it’s unlikely to fit in the trunk of most cars. At 47kg, it’s also extremely difficult to lug up a staircase, for example.
Incredibly, the Burn-E can be fully charged in just six hours. Once it’s topped up, you’re ready to go for around 55 miles—and in some style, too.
4. Qiewa QPower2 – 90 miles max range
Quick Specs
- 2 x 3000W motors
- 60V 40Ah battery
- 90 miles max range
- 60mph max speed
- 16-18 hour charge time
- 46kg weight
The first Qpower model from Quiewa quickly became known as a beastly scooter that punched well above its weight in terms of its price. The latest version sees the Taiwanese manufacturer attempting to go one better.
The QPower 2 certainly continues the legacy of its predecessor (though at a slightly hiked price), expanding the scooter’s already-impressive offroad capabilities and adding several spec enhancements, including an improved range.
The first thing that stands out is the QPower 2’s enormous dual 3000-watt motors—you won’t find stronger motors on an e-scooter at this price point. They’re the driving force behind the machine’s impressive acceleration and blistering top speed.
As with the first model, the QPower 2 is most at home on offroad terrain. Chunky tires, impressive front and rear brakes, and great suspension make the scooter the perfect rural commuter, or weekend warrior if you’re looking to have some fun with the vehicle.
This isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing e-scooter, but that’s not the point: it’s a functional beast. That’s typified by the display and handlebar controls, which work effectively in a no-frills kind of way. The undulating LED lights are a little more quirky.
If you’re looking for an offroader with stamina in abundance, the QPower 2 is a great option. While we doubt it can match its advertised max range of 90 miles, you’re still likely to get about 55 miles out of this monster—when you factor in the price, that’s pretty special.
3. Kaabo Wolf King GT – 90 miles max range
Quick Specs
- 2 x 200W motors
- 72V 35Ah battery
- 90 miles max range
- 62mph max speed
- 13-15 hour charge time
- 52kg weight
Not only is the Kaboo Wolf King GT one of the fastest electric scooters in the world, but it also boasts one of the best ranges—what we’re trying to say is it’s got some truly ludicrous performance specs.
This is a seriously beastly e-scooter; clocking in at 52kg, it’s one of the heavier vehicles on this list. What that means for users is a powerful yet smooth ride that may leave you wanting to scrap your car for good.
The scooter’s immense pace isn’t there just for the sake of it; the Wolf King glides effortlessly even towards its top speed. Safety is never compromised thanks to its responsive design and excellent braking power. If you really want to turn up the heat, you can get it cracking.
Enviable acceleration and hill-climbing capabilities are likely to catch the eye of passersby. A solid frame and secure suspension allow you to ride with confidence, while fat tires also make the Wolf King a great off-road option.
The major drawback of all this oomph is, inevitably, the scooter’s portability. While the scooter can be folded, the folding mechanism makes the procedure quite awkward. Unless you’re a professional bodybuilder, it’s going to be a challenge hauling the heavyweight frame around.
Portability aside, the Wolf King is an elite all-round e-scooter that will comfortably carry you over 55 miles in a single run—undoubtedly in one of the quickest times, too.
2. VSETT 11+
Quick Specs
- 2 x 1500W motors
- 60V 42Ah battery
- 90 miles max range
- 53mph max speed
- 16 hour charge time
- 58kg weight
The VSETT 11+ is a heavyweight monster with energy in abundance. This is a versatile machine equipped with some staggering performance specs—most notably, its immense range.
While the 11+ is well-equipped for urban adventures, it’s equally masterful in offroad terrains. This is due to its extremely durable build and big-fat, puncture-immune tires, which make the riding experience as pain-free as possible.
As soon as you squeeze the throttle, you’ll notice the e-scooter’s zippy acceleration. In full flow, top speeds of around 45mph more than suffice, even for the most audacious adrenaline junkies.
You’ll probably be spending more of your time in the 11+’s cruise control mode, where the e-scooter’s buttery-smooth ride can be better appreciated. Solid suspension and highly-responsive brakes keep the rider in control at all times.
As you’d expect, the heavy-duty build is firm and reliable. Ultra-wide handlebars and a spacious deck add even more comfort for the rider. One drawback of the complex frame, however, is that the scooter doesn’t lock into place when folded; transporting the 11+ isn’t recommended.
If you can live with that, you’ve got a machine with perhaps the strongest range of any e-scooter on the market. The estimated max range of 90 miles is virtually unheard of. In reality, you’ll likely get about 65 miles out of this machine on a typical ride, which is nonetheless remarkable.
1. Dualtron Thunder 2
Quick Specs
- 2 x 1500W motors
- 72V 40 Ah battery
- 105 miles max range
- 58 mph max speed
- 26 hour charge time
- 47kg weight
After the success of the first Dual Thunder model, MiniMotors had set itself a tough act to follow. The Dualtron Thunder 2 rises to the occasion in every sense, with enhanced design features and performance specs.
Besides its unrivaled range, the Dualtron Thunder 2 is one of the fastest scooters in the game. The new double-click throttle will put your bravery to the test as the scooter reaches adrenaline-inducing speeds of around 50mph.
The 1500-watt twin motors come into their own on hills, where you’ll really feel like you’re cheating gravity. Even at its quickest speeds, the Thunder 2’s well-designed build keeps the rider in control.
Flat-free tires are another notable upgrade, and open the door to even more offroad opportunities. Hydraulic brakes, solid suspension, and a festival of lighting features allow riders to go with confidence across different terrains and at all times of the day.
The Thunder 2 is arguably more portable than its predecessor thanks to its improved folding mechanism. However, at 47kg, anyone will have trouble carrying its chunky frame.
That said, it boasts one of the strongest ranges in the e-scooter field, alongside the VSETT 11+. MiniMotors’ estimated range is probably overstated; we put the real-world range at around 65 miles. A figure like that makes it easy to overlook a whopping 26-hour charge time.
Final Thoughts
Every year, new e-scooters hit the market and redefine what was previously considered possible in terms of performance. A 30-mile range was once seen as unparalleled, but we’re now dealing with distances more than double that. It’s truly an exciting time for the field.
As we’ve already mentioned, measuring range is an inherently difficult task. Distances ultimately vary based on rider weight, speed, and terrain, among several other factors.
If you want to find out more about the range of a specific model, it’s best to examine tests and reviews online. These provide more precise distances that you can measure against your own riding style to make an informed estimate of the likely range that you will get out of the scooter.
